Sen Sok: Heavy Trucks, Waste, Flood, ID Cards Issues Raised During Public Forum

The public forum was continuously organised to discuss concerned issues with local citizens. The 4th gathering was conducted in Sen Sok District on November 02, 2013 under precidency of H.E MAP Sarin, President of Capital Council and H.E SENG Ratanak, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh with particiaption of officers and many local citizens.

During that meeting, H.E MAP Sarin, President of Capital Council had mentioned that it was the 1st year that Capital Council and the Capital Hall jointly talked with local citizens within 9 districts in public and informed them what the Capital Council and Capital Hall had been doing, paying for, as well as solving any prior issues raised by people. The public forum was aimed to get feedback and participation from people as well as receive requests that should be solved by authority, he continued.

About 10 verbal questions/requests and 94 writen ones were received during that gathering. Most of them focused on same often mistakes affected to people and need to be solved by local authority and the Capital Hall by strict countermeasure on heavy trucks, dump trucks travelling and damaging village roads as well pond/drainage/sewage invasion by some opportunists which led to heavy flood and road damaged. Moreover, waste issue was also critized and CINTRI was blamed for its irregular collection service. Furthermore, the late in issuing identification for citizens was also commented. Then, people in Phnom Penh Thmey Commune had requested for electricity poles installed and rehabilitation Hanoi Road as soon as possible since it was damaged by heavy trucks. Most of the questions were replied by relevant officers and some other requests would be put in the 3 year-rolling plan of the Capital Council.
